Master P, born Percy Robert Miller in New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1970, is an American rapper, record executive and entrepreneur who became one of hip-hop's most influential independent businessmen. In 1991 he founded No Limit Records, building it into a Southern rap empire that released his best-selling album MP Da Last Don (1998) alongside earlier records Ice Cream Man (1996) and Ghetto D (1997). His 1997 single “Make 'Em Say Uhh!” went platinum and remains his highest-charting hit. VH1 ranked him among its 50 Greatest Hip Hop Artists, and in 2013 he became the first hip-hop act inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame. On stage he trades on that No Limit legacy.
