About
Mary Middlefield has played violin since she was five, classically trained, and the strings never left: the indie pop is rock-edged but string-laden, and the lyricism is candid to the point of discomfort. The debut album Thank You Alexander landed in 2023 and Poetry (for the scorned and lonely) followed it. She has played Glastonbury Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival and the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, and opened for The Beaches, Seafret and Nena. She is based in Switzerland.
