The Marcus King Band is an American rock group from Greenville, South Carolina, formed in 2013 around singer and guitarist Marcus King. King grew up steeped in music — his father, Marvin King, was a respected South Carolina blues guitarist, and Marcus was sharing stages with him by the age of eight. The band's blend of Southern rock, blues and soul arrived on their 2015 debut Soul Insight, released through Warren Haynes' Evil Teen Records, which reached number two on the Billboard Blues Albums chart. King's 2020 album El Dorado, cut under his own name, was nominated for Best Americana Album at the Grammy Awards. A prodigious guitarist, King has built the band's reputation on fiery, improvisation-heavy live performances.
