Magnus Ferrell is an American singer-songwriter and musician, born in Los Angeles in 2004, the eldest son of Will Ferrell and Viveca Paulin. He studied piano as a child, played in school jazz ensembles as a teenager, and released music independently while studying acting at the University of Southern California — including the six-track EP Hasn't Even Started in 2024 — before signing with Visva Records and Republic Records. His 2026 single "Asleep Talking" became his first Billboard chart entry, at number 24 on the Digital Song Sales chart; that August he made his first festival appearance at Outside Lands, and he was nominated for Best New Artist at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards.
