Lukas Nelson is an American singer-songwriter born in Austin, Texas, in 1988, the son of country legend Willie Nelson. Rooted in country and Americana, he founded the band Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real in 2008 after meeting drummer Anthony LoGerfo at a Neil Young concert. He shared a Grammy for Best Compilation Soundtrack and a BAFTA for Best Original Music for his work on the 2018 film A Star Is Born, for which he co-wrote eight songs with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga. He composed a song for his father's album It Always Will Be at age eleven, and released his debut solo album, American Romance, in 2025. A seasoned touring performer, Nelson remains a familiar presence on the country and Americana live circuit.
