Lil Rob, born Roberto L. Flores in San Diego in 1975, is an American rapper and producer and a central figure in Chicano rap. Raised in a Mexican American neighbourhood near Solana Beach, he began performing in the early 1990s and built a formidable independent following, reportedly moving as many as 100,000 units of each self-released CD. His 2005 single 'Summer Nights', from the album Twelve Eighteen Part 1, broke through to the mainstream and peaked at number 36 on the Billboard Hot 100. Over his career he has collaborated with artists including E-40, Ice Cube and Paul Wall, and in 2024 he returned after a long hiatus with the album All To The Bueno. On stage he is regarded as a San Diego legend and an enduring draw within the Chicano rap circuit.
