Lefty Gunplay is an American rapper, born Franklin Scott Holladay in 1996 in Baldwin Park, California, where he grew up in a trailer park with his mother and grandmother. He turned to hip-hop professionally in 2023, signing to OTR Records and releasing his debut album Rookie of the Year in early 2024. His breakthrough came as a featured artist on Kendrick Lamar's 'TV Off,' from the 2024 album GNX, a collaboration that reached number two on the Billboard Hot 100 and won Best Rap Song at the 2026 Grammy Awards, where he also earned a Best Rap Performance nomination. He later joined Diamond Lane Music Group and issued Ghetto Heisman (2025), with guests including Waka Flocka Flame and Hit-Boy, building momentum as a rising West Coast live performer.
