Lauren Housley is a singer and songwriter from Yorkshire whose love of music started early, with a deep connection to great songs, the craft of storytelling and emotive vocal performance: "It was like magic to me, that music could have such an impact on the way I felt. It became my therapy." She released her debut album, Sweet Surrender, independently in 2015; its first single, "Ghost Town Blues", hit the BBC Radio 2 playlist, and the album track "The Waiting Game" became Robert Elms's favourite track of the year on his BBC Radio London show. Regular play across various BBC Radio stations led to Live Nation, an invitation to the O2 Arena as part of Bluesfest, and opening slots for Vintage Trouble, Jack Savoretti and Van Morrison.
