L'entourloop

L'Entourloop are a French reggae and hip-hop group formed in 2013 and rooted in Saint-Étienne. Built around producers King James and Sir Johnny, the collective describes its sound as "hip hop inna yardie style," a Jamaican-flavoured take on hip-hop, and has expanded to feature trumpeter N'Zeng, Bermudian singer Troy Berkley and, from 2022, Dutch rapper Blabbermouf. The name nods to the 1980 film L'Entourloupe. Their 2022 album La clarté dans la confusion drew on 31 guest contributors and reached the top ten in French sales, and that same year the group played some 60 concerts, fifteen of them outside France. With a large, guest-heavy stage line-up and a heavy festival presence, L'Entourloop have become one of the most in-demand acts on Europe's reggae and sound-system circuit.
