William Kraus, who records simply as Kraus, is an American shoegaze musician who grew up in Dallas. He listened to Good Charlotte as a child and was pushed towards producing by the Linkin Park fandom, starting out in hip-hop and electronic beats before Sigur Rós broadened his scope around 2010; he went on to study at the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University. He finished his first album, End Tomorrow, in 2016 and released it on Terrible Records after emailing labels and writers cold. He is best known for his second album, Path, which Pitchfork rated 7.3. His music has been called noise rock, noise pop, dream pop and shoegaze, and compared to My Bloody Valentine.
