Kevin Atwater is an American singer-songwriter known for confessional indie and dream-pop songs that frequently draw on queer experience. Born in Downers Grove, Illinois, and later based in New York City, he first built an audience posting on TikTok before his 2022 single 'star tripping' went viral there. He has described his music as 'folk with a queer twist', citing Sufjan Stevens, Phoebe Bridgers and Nick Drake as touchstones, and turns niche personal moments into widely relatable songs. Atwater released his debut album, Achilles, in March 2025, collecting material written over several years. He has grown into a rising club and small-venue headliner, where his intimate, diaristic writing translates into closely shared live sets.
