Encarnita "Kany" García de Jesús, born in Toa Baja on 25 September 1982, is a Puerto Rican singer and songwriter. She first appeared on television in 2004 as a contestant on Objetivo Fama and is widely considered the most successful non-winner in that show's history. She signed to Sony BMG in 2006, and her debut album Cualquier Día in 2007 was a commercial success that produced four top 40 singles on the Billboard Latin Tracks. She has won six Latin Grammy Awards from twenty nominations, and been nominated for three Grammy Awards.
