John Mulaney is an American stand-up comedian, writer and actor, born in Chicago in 1982. He first made his name behind the scenes at Saturday Night Live, where from 2008 to 2013 he wrote sketches and co-created the recurring character Stefon with Bill Hader. As a headline performer he has released five specials, among them The Comeback Kid, Kid Gorgeous and 2023's confessional Baby J, and has won four Primetime Emmy Awards for his writing. His other work spans the sitcom Mulaney, the Broadway two-hander Oh, Hello with Nick Kroll, and voicing Spider-Ham in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Known for precise, story-driven observational comedy delivered in sharp suits, Mulaney has become one of the most reliable ticket-sellers in American stand-up.
