Joan Jett & the Blackhearts are an American rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1979, welding hard rock, punk, new wave and power pop around frontwoman Joan Jett. Jett and producer Kenny Laguna have been the only constant members through many lineup changes. Their cover of the Arrows' 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll' spent seven weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982, and the band notched further hits with 'Bad Reputation,' 'Crimson and Clover' and 'I Hate Myself for Loving You,' which drew a Grammy nomination. Three of their albums went gold or platinum, and Jett was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015. Relentless live performers, they have toured with Queen, Aerosmith and Green Day.
