Jimmy Carr is a British and Irish comedian, presenter and writer known for a rapid-fire deadpan delivery of one-liners and for often controversial, edgy dark humour. He began his comedy career in the late 1990s and rose to prominence hosting the Channel 4 panel shows The Big Fat Quiz of the Year from 2004, 8 Out of 10 Cats from 2005 to 2021, and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown from 2012. Alongside the television work he has built a career as a stand-up who tours internationally.
