Jim Gaffigan is an American stand-up comedian, actor and writer, born in Elgin, Illinois, in 1966 and raised in Chesterton, Indiana. Working since the early 1990s, he built a reputation as a “clean” observational comic, mining fatherhood, food, faith and laziness — his Hot Pockets routine among the best-known bits in modern stand-up. His specials include Mr. Universe (2012), Obsessed (2014), Cinco (2017) and Quality Time (2019), and he has earned multiple Grammy nominations for Best Comedy Album. He also wrote the bestsellers Dad Is Fat and Food: A Love Story and starred in TV Land's The Jim Gaffigan Show. Prolific and relentlessly touring, he remains one of comedy's biggest live draws.
