The James Taylor Quartet are a British jazz-funk band formed in 1985 by Hammond organ player James Taylor after his previous group The Prisoners split. Built around Taylor's organ, they became a cornerstone of the UK acid jazz scene — and are no relation to the American singer-songwriter of the same name.
