James Blake is an English singer-songwriter and record producer known for an emotive, soulful head voice and his use of falsetto. Three extended plays in 2010 — The Bells Sketch, CMYK and Klavierwerke — brought the first recognition; his self-titled debut for A&M Records followed in 2011 and peaked in the UK top ten, as did Overgrown in 2013. "King's Dead", with Jay Rock, Kendrick Lamar and Future, reached number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 and preceded Assume Form, his highest-charting album. Friends That Break Your Heart, Playing Robots Into Heaven and Trying Times followed. He has written and produced for Beyoncé, Frank Ocean and Rosalía among many others, and has won a Mercury Prize.
