About
Icehouse are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1977, originally as Flowers before adopting the Icehouse name in 1981. Built around mainstay Iva Davies on vocals, guitar and keyboards, they moved from new wave toward a polished synth-pop-inflected rock. Their 1980 debut reached number four in Australia, while 1982's 'Primitive Man' brought international success with 'Hey Little Girl'. The 1987 album 'Man of Colours', home to 'Crazy' and 'Electric Blue', became their biggest seller, topping the Australian chart for eleven weeks. The band won two ARIA Awards in 1988 and were inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2006. Having built their name on the Australian pub circuit, Icehouse have toured regularly since returning to the stage in 2011.
