Ice Cube

Ice Cube, born O'Shea Jackson in Los Angeles in 1969, is an American rapper and actor central to the rise of West Coast hip-hop. As lead lyricist of N.W.A, he wrote much of the group's landmark 1989 album Straight Outta Compton before launching a solo career that produced AmeriKKKa's Most Wanted (1990), Death Certificate (1991) and The Predator (1992), the last debuting at number one on both the pop and R&B/hip-hop charts. Hits including "It Was a Good Day," "Check Yo Self" and "You Know How We Do It" cemented his standing, and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of N.W.A in 2016. He also built a major film career, from Friday to the Barbershop series.
