Guttermouth are an American punk rock band formed in Huntington Beach, California, in 1989, playing fast skate punk topped with deliberately shocking, tongue-in-cheek lyrics. Vocalist Mark Adkins has been the sole permanent member across a shifting lineup, releasing records including Full Length LP (1991), Friendly People (1994) and Musical Monkey (1997) on labels such as Nitro and, from 2000, Epitaph. Signature tracks include '1, 2, 3...Slam!' and 'Perfect World.' Their reputation, though, rests on chaotic and confrontational live shows: the band was banned from performing in Canada for 18 months and left the 2004 Vans Warped Tour amid controversy. Decades on, they remain a byword for unruly, unpredictable punk gigs.
