Goldie Lookin Chain are a Welsh comedy hip-hop group from Newport, active since 2000 and often tied to the 'Cool Cymru' moment. Their explicit, tongue-in-cheek songs satirise rap posturing, consumer culture and Welsh life. After building a cult reputation, they reached number three on the UK singles chart with 2004's 'Guns Don't Kill People, Rappers Do,' while the debut album 'Greatest Hits' hit number five the same year and 'Half Man Half Machine' made number 32. The sprawling collective has featured Eggsy, Adam Hussain, Mike Balls and others, with Maggot departing in 2014. Known for rowdy, comedic live shows, they remain an active touring act, playing a sold-out UK run in 2024.
