The Gioioso Piano Quartet is Suzanne Martens on violin, Maya Egashira on viola, Peter Martens on cello and José Dias on piano. Their programme sets two pillars of the piano-quartet repertoire — Mozart's much-loved Piano Quartet in G minor, K. 478, and Schumann's Romantic masterpiece, the Piano Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 47 — around the world premiere of a new Piano Quartet by Hendrik Hofmeyr, which was written at the request of the quartet's cellist, Peter Martens.
