About
Flesh for Lulu were an English rock band formed in Brixton in 1982 and active until 1992, with a reunion between 2013 and 2015. Nick Marsh on vocals and guitar and James Mitchell on drums started the band with Justin Brooks and recruited a bassist through an ad in Melody Maker; that line-up's only John Peel session earned them a Polydor Records contract in 1983, and Rocco Barker and later Kevin Mills joined afterwards. Initially part of the post-punk scene, their sound shifted towards pop, country and western, rhythm and blues and blues. The cover of the 1985 mini LP Blue Sisters Swing — two nuns kissing — had it banned in the United States and Europe, and "Time and Space" reached the top ten of the Modern Rock chart.
