Fiddlehead are an American post-hardcore band formed in Boston, Massachusetts, in 2014, drawing members from hardcore acts including Have Heart and Basement. Fronted by vocalist Patrick Flynn alongside guitarists Alex Henery and Alex Dow, drummer Shawn Costa and bassist Nick Hinsch, the group fold melodic hardcore and emo into songs that wrestle openly with grief and family. Their debut EP Out of the Bloom arrived in 2014, followed by the albums Springtime and Blind (2018), Between the Richness (2021) and Death Is Nothing to Us (2023), all issued through Run for Cover Records. Because Flynn works full-time as a high-school history teacher, Fiddlehead rarely tour at length, favouring one-off shows and short regional weekends — a scarcity that makes their live appearances something devoted fans travel for.
