Editors are an English rock band formed in Birmingham in 2002, their members having met while studying music technology at Staffordshire University. Trading in dark, driving post-punk revival, their platinum-selling debut The Back Room (2005) earned a Mercury Prize nomination on the strength of singles "Munich" and "Blood." The follow-up, An End Has a Start (2007), entered the UK Albums Chart at number one, a feat repeated by 2009's In This Light and on This Evening. With several million records sold across seven studio albums, they built a reputation as a formidable live act, headlining festivals and filling arenas across the UK, Europe, the Americas and Australia. Their brooding, big-room anthems translate powerfully to the stage.
