Eddy Current Suppression Ring are an Australian garage-punk band formed in Melbourne in late 2003, playing raw, 1960s- and 70s-influenced garage rock built around vocalist Brendan Huntley and guitarist Michael Young. Their self-titled debut arrived in 2006, but it was 2008's Primary Colours that made their name, winning the Australian Music Prize in 2009 and an AIR Award for Best Independent Hard Rock/Punk Album. The 2010 album Rush to Relax reached No. 20 on the ARIA Charts and was later featured in the book 100 Best Australian Albums, and in 2022 Rolling Stone Australia ranked Primary Colours among the greatest Australian albums ever made. After a long gap they returned with In Light of Recent Events in 2026. Famed for their unhinged, high-energy shows, the band earned a reputation as one of garage rock's fiercest live acts.
