Echo & the Bunnymen are an English rock band formed in Liverpool in 1978 by vocalist Ian McCulloch, guitarist Will Sergeant and bassist Les Pattinson, with drummer Pete de Freitas joining in 1980. They became one of the defining groups of British post-punk.
