Dying Fetus are an American death metal band formed in Greater Upper Marlboro, Maryland, in 1991. Various lineup changes over the years have left John Gallagher as the sole remaining original member and, by his own account, the band's driving force. Gallagher has said the name was chosen while the members were young and was intended to be offensive. The band has released nine studio albums to date.
