Don Trip, born Christopher Wallace in 1985 in Memphis, Tennessee, is an American Southern hip-hop rapper and songwriter who began rapping as a teenager and emerged around 2008. His breakthrough came with 'Letter to My Son' featuring CeeLo Green, a viral track that led to a 2011 major-label deal, and his 2015 album Godspeed narrowly entered the Billboard 200. He was named to the XXL Freshman Class of 2012 alongside Future and Danny Brown. With fellow rapper Starlito he created the acclaimed Step Brothers mixtape series, whose 2017 third instalment drew praise from Pitchfork and XXL. Now working independently, Don Trip has remained one of Memphis rap's most respected and prolific voices, sustaining a devoted grassroots following built on relentless output.
