About
Don-E is a British soul singer, songwriter, musician and producer, born Donald McLean in Brixton, London. The son of a South London pastor who gave him a homemade guitar as a child, he was signed to Island Records at nineteen and recorded his debut Unbreakable. His best-known song, the 1992 single "Love Makes the World Go Round," reached No. 18 on the UK Singles Chart. He returned to wider critical notice with the 2008 album Natural, and has worked extensively as a session and touring player, becoming a regular member of Grace Jones's band and playing keyboards throughout her Hurricane tour. A fixture of the British soul scene, Don-E is known onstage both as a solo artist and as a versatile sideman to a distinctive roster of headliners.
