Devlin is an English rapper and songwriter, born James Devlin on 7 May 1989 in Bermondsey, London, and raised in Dagenham, working in the British hip-hop and grime tradition. He first emerged through the grime collectives O.T. Crew and The Movement before going solo. His debut album, Bud, Sweat and Beers (2010), reached number 21 on the UK Albums Chart, while the single 'Runaway' became his most successful release, peaking at number 15. A second album, A Moving Picture, followed in 2013 and charted at number 19. Signed to Island Records from 2010 to 2015, he later ran his own Devlin Music label. A veteran of the UK grime scene, Devlin remains a respected presence on stages across Britain.
