Currents are an American metalcore band, formed in Newtown, Connecticut in 2011 by drummer Jeff Brown. No original member remains: the line-up is singer Brian Wille, guitarists Ryan Castaldi and Chris Wiseman, bassist and backing vocalist Christian Pulgarin, and drummer Matt Young. After the independently released EP Victimized and a second EP, Life // Lost, the band signed to SharpTone Records in 2017 and issued The Place I Feel Safest that June, followed by The Way it Ends in 2020 and The Death We Seek in 2023. Distorted Sound wrote that they had gone a long way to making a lot of the modern metalcore field feel irrelevant.
