About
Craig Lucas is a South African singer-songwriter from Cape Town, born in Elsies River, who won the second season of The Voice South Africa, which began airing on M-Net on 5 February 2017; he beat the fan favourite Josh Ansley to the title. His songs "Smother", "Hearts Exposed", "Antisociable", "Happy" and "Better" are gold-certified, and he is known for a genre-blurring sound and emotionally charged songwriting. After the Tip of My Tongue EP, which leaned into a raw, punk-inspired energy, he returned in 2026 with "Joyride", a nostalgic pop song written, recorded and produced in less than half a day in Copenhagen with the Danish artists Theresa Rex, Nikolai Pellegrini and TMI Tammi on his first international songwriting trip. It quickly became one of the most-played local songs on national radio.
