Circa Survive were formed in Philadelphia in 2004 by the singer Anthony Green, lately of Saosin, and the guitarist Colin Frangicetto, joined shortly after by the guitarist Brendan Ekstrom, the bassist Nick Beard and the drummer Steve Clifford. Juturna arrived on Equal Vision Records in 2005 and On Letting Go followed it; Blue Sky Noise came out on Atlantic in 2010, after which the band went independent for Violent Waves. Descensus and The Amulet closed the run. An indefinite hiatus announced in 2022 was confirmed as a permanent breakup by Green in 2025, before a reunion show was announced for September 2026.
