About

Chat Pile is an American noise rock and sludge metal band from Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, formed in February 2019, whose four members perform under the pseudonyms Raygun Busch (vocals), Luther Manhole (guitar), Stin (bass) and Cap'n Ron (drums). They took their name from piles of chat, the byproducts of lead-zinc mining common throughout northeastern Oklahoma. The Flenser signed the band in September 2020, and after the 2019 EPs This Dungeon Earth and Remove Your Skin Please, their debut album God's Country arrived in 2022 and was named Best New Music by Pitchfork; Cool World followed in 2024. In 2025 they started their own label, Dungeon Earth, and made In the Earth Again with guitarist Hayden Pedigo. Who Loves the Sun, led by the single "Deep Blue", was released on September 4, 2026.
