Change were an Italian-American post-disco group formed in Bologna, Italy, in 1979 by producer Jacques Fred Petrus and musician Mauro Malavasi. Their sound came from an unusual method — instruments recorded at Fonoprint Studios in Bologna, then vocals added at New York's Power Station — blending sleek Italo-disco with the warmth of American soul. Their 1980 debut The Glow of Love featured a young Luther Vandross on lead vocals for its title track and 'Searching', and yielded the hit 'A Lover's Holiday', which reached number five on the US soul chart. All three of the album's singles topped the US dance chart across nine weeks in 1980. Change remain celebrated as one of the defining acts of the post-disco era, a lasting dancefloor staple.
