CARRTOONS is the project of Ben Carr, a bassist, multi-instrumentalist and producer from New York. A 2013 jazz-performance graduate of SUNY Purchase, he began releasing groove-driven, bass-forward instrumentals from his bedroom in 2017, developing a sound that moves easily between jazz, R&B, funk and hip-hop. As a collaborator he has worked with Mac Ayres, Lettuce, Butcher Brown and Vic Mensa, while his own catalogue — including tracks like "Groceries" and "Sparkle" — has drawn tens of millions of streams. His most recent album, Space Cadet, arrived in 2025. On stage CARRTOONS puts the electric bass front and centre, translating his warm, soulful studio grooves into a full live band setting.
