Cap Carter is a Manila-born, Western Sydney folk-soul singer-songwriter raised in Mt Druitt, known for a gravelly voice and raw, confessional acoustic songs he describes as a form of therapy. His deeply personal indie R&B went viral online, and in 2021 he signed with Island Records Australia and supported soul artist Teddy Swims on his debut Australia and New Zealand tour, quickly following with sold-out headline shows of his own. In 2022, buoyed by viral moments on TikTok and Instagram, he sold out US dates at venues including the Hotel Café in West Hollywood, Rockwood Music Hall in Manhattan and The Continental Club in Austin. A UK and Ireland run saw him sell out London and Dublin twice each and play The Great Escape in Brighton, cementing a reputation as a compelling live draw.
