Bruce Ian McCulloch, born in Edmonton on 12 May 1961, is a Canadian actor, comedian, writer, musician and film director, best known as a member of the comedy troupe The Kids in the Hall. He graduated from Mount Royal University in Calgary and got his start in a sketch troupe called The Audience, where he met his long-time collaborator Mark McKinney; he also wrote for Saturday Night Live for the 1985-1986 season. On The Kids in the Hall he wrote surreal monologues, films and songs and directed several filmed sketches, and his characters included Cabbage Head, the talkative schoolchild Gavin and the depressed rock star Grivo. He has released two albums, among them 1995's Shame-Based Man, produced by Bob Wiseman.
