Brandi Marie Carlile is an American singer-songwriter and producer whose music spans folk rock, alternative country, Americana and classic rock. Eleven Grammy Awards and two Emmy Awards in, she has also been nominated for an Academy Award — for “Never Too Late”, written and sung with Elton John — and in 2026 was named one of Time's Women of the Year. Eight studio albums run from her 2005 major-label debut through Returning to Myself in 2025, with the 2007 single “The Story” bringing wider recognition. In 2019 she formed the all-female quartet the Highwomen with Amanda Shires, Maren Morris and Natalie Hemby.
