Boney M. are a vocal group assembled in West Germany in 1974 by producer Frank Farian, blending disco, funk and reggae into some of the era's biggest pop hits. The classic line-up paired Jamaican-born singers Liz Mitchell and Marcia Barrett with Maizie Williams and Bobby Farrell, and their run of hits — "Daddy Cool," "Rasputin," "Rivers of Babylon" and "Ma Baker" among them — topped charts across Europe. "Rivers of Babylon" and "Mary's Boy Child / Oh My Lord" rank among the UK's best-selling singles ever, part of sales exceeding 100 million records. Touring with live musicians and backing vocalists, Boney M. built a lasting reputation as a nostalgic disco-era draw whose songs still fill dance floors.
