Binary Star is a hip-hop project by the rapper One Be Lo, also known as OneManArmy, and was originally a duo with Senim Silla. The pair met in high school and formed the group in 1998 while in Hiawatha Correctional Facility. Their debut Waterworld was made on a $500 budget and released in 1999 on Terrorist Records, and because both men were on parole the tour that followed could not leave Michigan. It paid for Masters of the Universe, essentially a remix of the first record, which sold over 20,000 copies. The duo split soon after, reuniting to play Middlebury College in 2002 and touring again in 2009. A self-titled EP marked fifteen years in 2013.
