Billy Talent are a Canadian punk rock band from Mississauga, Ontario, formed in 1993 and originally called Pezz before adopting their current name in 1999. The lineup of singer Benjamin Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D'Sa, bassist Jonathan Gallant and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk broke through with their self-titled 2003 debut, which went triple platinum in Canada, and the four-times-platinum Billy Talent II in 2006. Later albums including Billy Talent III, Dead Silence and 2022's Crisis of Faith kept them near the top of the Canadian rock scene. They have won seven Juno Awards and are the most-nominated band in MuchMusic Video Award history, with close to three million records sold internationally. Relentless touring and festival sets have made their live shows a national institution.
