Being As An Ocean

Being as an Ocean are an American post-hardcore band formed in Alpine, California, in 2011. Centred on vocalist Joel Quartuccio, their sole constant member, the group pair melodic, plaintive passages with sudden aggressive outbursts and spoken-word sections, folding in post-rock and melodic hardcore. Their debut Dear G-d... arrived in 2012, and 2014's How We Both Wondrously Perish reached number 57 on the Billboard 200; later releases include a self-titled album, Waiting for Morning to Come and 2024's Death Can Wait. The band has toured across more than twenty countries, taking in Germany, the UK and Australia, and played the entire 2015 Warped Tour. Known for emotionally raw, cathartic performances, Being as an Ocean have kept up an active international touring presence throughout their career.
