About
Bed on Bricks is a Cape Town band that the singer Mik Hardy put together after Sons of Trout disbanded in the late 1990s, with Schalk van der Merwe, Dave van der Linden and Tim Rankin, who also works as a sound engineer. Their combination of rock and funk, and lyrics both quirky and heartfelt, made them hugely popular across South Africa through the 2000s and 2010s, and they performed with Bastille during that band's tour of South Africa. "Humanarium" is among their better-known songs. The line-up reunites for occasional shows.
