Barry Manilow is an American singer, songwriter and arranger born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1943, and one of the defining voices of adult contemporary pop. His run of hits, among them "Mandy," "Copacabana," "I Write the Songs" and "Can't Smile Without You," helped him place dozens of singles on the Adult Contemporary chart, including thirteen number ones. He has sold more than 85 million records worldwide and won an Emmy Award for a 2006 music special. Manilow is equally renowned as a showman: his ten-night 1984 stand at Radio City Music Hall set a box-office record, and he has since headlined sold-out runs at the Royal Albert Hall and multiple Las Vegas residencies.
