Auntie Flo is the recording alias of Brian d'Souza, a DJ, producer and live performer born in Glasgow and based in London, whose heritage traces to Goa and Kenya. His music fuses house, afrobeat and UK bass with global rhythms, an approach he helped foster through the Highlife parties he co-founded in Glasgow. His 2018 album Radio Highlife, released on Gilles Peterson's Brownswood label, won the SAY Award for Scottish Album of the Year, and earlier records such as Theory of Flo (2015) drew strong reviews. He has held residencies at Glasgow's Sub Club and London's Plastic People. As a live act his global-electronic band has headlined festival stages and sold-out shows at London venues including the Jazz Cafe and Ronnie Scott's.
