Árný Margrét is an Icelandic folk singer-songwriter and guitarist, born in Ísafjörður in 2001. She learned piano young and later guitar, and after finishing school moved to Denmark for folk school before COVID lockdowns brought her home. She signed to One Little Independent Records in 2021, releasing the single "Intertwined" that December and her debut album They Only Talk About the Weather in October 2022; her second album, I Miss You, I Do, followed in 2025. She won Song of the Year at the 2023 Icelandic Music Awards and Best New Act at the Iceland Airwaves Plus Awards. Her introspective, disarming songs have taken her from the Winnipeg Folk Festival to international tours supporting artists such as Of Monsters and Men, Wilco and The Crane Wives.
