Armin van Buuren is a Dutch DJ and producer, and one of the defining figures of trance music, born in Leiden in 1976. Since 2001 he has hosted the weekly radio show A State of Trance, which reaches listeners across dozens of countries and built a global following for his uplifting style. DJ Mag readers voted him the world's number-one DJ five times between 2007 and 2012, and his singles "In and Out of Love" and "This Is What It Feels Like" — the latter earning a Grammy nomination — became club staples. Known for marathon sets, including a seven-hour performance at Romania's Untold festival in 2018, he is a headline fixture of the international festival circuit.
